 Stretching
some 1,600km from north to south and made up of two large islands
(and a few smaller ones), New Zealand is truly unique. The South
Island combines lovely vineyards and breathtaking coastal scenery
with immense fjords, mountains and glaciers. The North Island
has a higher population density and is more tropical with amazing
beaches, stunning volcanic scenery and the incredible Lord of
the Rings landscapes.
With a landmass greater than that of the UK but only 4 million
inhabitants there's a lot of wide open spaces. Now add perfect
winding roads, amazing scenery, friendly people and a wide range
of landscapes all within relatively short distances. The result
is the best motorcycling in the world!
Hire a motorbike
from Christchurch or Auckland and explore by yourself. BMWs,
Harleys and many other makes are available. Examples of costs
are NZ$150 per day for a BMW F650GS or NZ$240 for a BMW R1200GS.
