We visited New Zealand from December 6 through 22, 2013 and had a fabulous vacation. We had read that the South Island was a motorcyclist's paradise and we were not disappointed. Each day, we had winding roads with gorgeous views everywhere and many options to explore along the way.
We usually stopped for breaks at small cafes that offered good food and great coffee. Our overnight accommodations were comfortable with welcoming staff and each evening we enjoyed a bottle of local wine that we had picked up along the way. We found the people of New Zealand to be relaxed, outgoing and friendly, always willing to strike up a conversation. Bike Round NZ did a great job - we didn't have a single glitch. Thanks for a memorable trip!
This was our second experience using your assistance for our travels and you've made the leap from good to great!
We are a South African couple that re-stared motor cycling a few months ago after dedicating 30 years of our life on the upbringing of our children.
This will go down as one of the most memorable vacations we have had and has set the standard of how we want to have our vacations in the future. NZ is a easy safe country to travel in were road users respect each other.
Thank you to Bike around NZ for a experience of a life time.
This is the 3rd time l have used the company. The whole tour was well organised packaged and delivered with the professional l have come to expect from BikeRoundNZ.
They do understand what bikers want and deliver. I highly recommend them.

Our honeymoon was always going to be good, but the choice to take 2 bikes around the South Island was the best holiday we have ever had. The help and speed of sorting out the route problem was fantastic. We appreciated everything you did for us.
The accommodation was excellent and the people we met at each were fantastic. We will be looking to come again in a couple of years and will recommend you guys to all our friends.
Thank you again.
First off, I'd like to thank you for enabling a great motortrip. All went perfect, I really can't think of any suggestions on what could be improved! I enclosed some pics of my trip, feel free to use, you'll notice I was very lucky with the weather. The suggested travel plan is just right, I normally drive longer distances on a day, but in New Zealand you just need the extra time to let the environment sink in, take pictures, relax, and it allows for some diversions if you wish. Perfect bike and well-maintained. Good choice of B&B's too! Nice locations, quiet, outside town centers, very nice hosts.
So, all in all a very positive experience and I would certainly recommend you guys to anyone thinking of doing a motorcycle trip in New Zealand!
The trip was fantastic, thank you very much for all your effort. Between your route and some pointers from friends and locals, we had a truly splendid week. Was in two minds before, just because I'm tight and it's fairly pricey, but it has been worth every bean, and we both hope to have another trip.
More again really soon please Santa.....
The trip was incredible!!! I absolutely loved it!!! The route was fantastic - such great roads to drive and amazing scenery! And the accommodation was perfect.
And as for the bike - I loved it!! It was too big for me, but I managed fine (except for one undignified moment when a man had to pull me backwards out of a parking spot as I could not push it backwards at all...) - I just learnt very quickly to park wisely in spots I could always get out of. It was brilliant on the road and I loved it!! I am now a big fan of Harleys!!
I pretty much stuck to the route that you sent me as did not feel too adventurous as a woman travelling alone. But I would not change the route at all - the distances were great for each day, giving me time to stop along the way and admire the views - and what incredible views they were!! And it was great to read the information the night before so I knew what to look out for the next day, and see what the route involved.
I have attached a few photos - my friends and family have all been amazed to see me on such a huge bike!! Thanks so much for all your help with the trip. I loved it and would not change a thing about it!!!

The trip was excellent thank you... As we only had four days, we spent most of our time north of Auckland, touring the island. I think we covered just over 600 miles travelling through some of the best scenery we've ever seen. One moment we are riding along the sea in Paihia, next up in the hills on the way to the tip of the island, through to windy forest roads.... :-)
I think the best roads for us was on the west coast travelling along side the Tasmanian Sea especially through the Waipoua forest! A holiday of a lifetime mate and we are already thinking of coming back to see some of the South Island!
Thanks for all your help!!!

I recently completed a 12 day motorbike tour of New Zealand’s South Island. What a shame on my part that it has taken me so long to get there. As you are aware the scenery is some of the most fascinating this world has to offer. However, I am compelled to write and express my opinion that as beautiful as your country is, your greatest asset has to be your people! All of the people that I had personal contact with beginning at the airport, to the hotels, the B&B’s, restaurants, café’s, pubs, excursions, and others, were some of the friendliest and most helpful folks that I have ever had the privilege of meeting!
Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Thanks for your e-mail. We had a great time in NZ. We especially liked the South Island. We were so lucky with the weather; not a drop of rain on the South Island and we were there for almost 3 weeks! The first rain we saw was on the ferry over to the North Island. Even then, only a couple of days with a little bit of rain. Saw lots of country and took lots of pics (most of them off the back of the bike). By the end of the tour we had put on just under 10,000 km.
Matt and the crew at the bike rental depot were really good guys and treated us well. We have nothing but good memories about the trip and already miss 'living the life'. Thanks for everything. Cheers Mate!
